General Information
MonaAir is an European brand that designs and offers air purification solutions.
MonaAir solutions apply and adapt for different uses and environments:
First, our air purifying solutions are natural. They are also different from those offered by conventional air purifiers, which require the filters to be replaced regularly and therefore increase the cost of the device. In addition to this advantage, our devices are discreet since they are integrated into the ventilation systems. Thus, they do not take up any space in living room. In addition to their discretion, our air purification devices are low in energy consumption and contribute to lowering our carbon footprint. Finally, our devices are designed to protect everyone in their environments.
Defender7 and Protect do not use the same technology to clean the air. The Defender7 uses OXP technology based on photocatalysis and the Protect uses IOP4 technology based on cold plasma.
The features and their designs are different, as well as their facilities. The Defender7 is installed on VMC double flow systems and ventilation ducts. The Protect is installed on air conditioning system cassette and split, truck and refrigerated container. See Defender7 product sheet and See Protect product sheet.
The negative ions produced by our devices are chemically similar to those in nature.
Important Note : our MonaAir devices mainly emit negative ions (O2-) which will improve air quality.

The Defender7 is an air purifier from the MonaAir purifier range.
Photocatalysis is a purification process that decomposes and degrades pollutants under the action of light rays on the surface of a catalyst. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is generally found on this surface. Thus this process makes it possible to destroy volatile organic compounds, inorganic pollutants and micro-organisms
UV-C is ultraviolet-C rays. These ultraviolet rays are between X-rays and visible light. UV-C is not ultraviolet radiation to which humans are naturally exposed. UV-C rays are filtered by the ozone layer and do not reach the Earth’s surface, or very little of it.
In the scientific world, UV-C is recognized as effective in purifying air, water and disinfecting surfaces.
OXP technology is based on the principle of photocatalysis, combining a UV-C lamp with a honeycomb-shaped catalyst on which a thin layer of titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been projected.
Defender7 can be installed on both ducted and dual-flow CMV systems.
Air ionization is an air purification technique that consists of producing large quantities of negative ions. By coming into contact with pollution, dust, fine particles or bacteria, negative ions will change their polarity, charge them negatively and thus neutralize them. Negative ions are found in large quantities in natural spaces. In nature they are produced thanks to the combination of several elements, solar radiation, the constant movement of the wind in the mountains or in the trees and the drops of water from a waterfall. This is why we have this feeling of well-being when we are in the mountains, in a forest or near a river.
A diode lights up on the front of the device when the UV lamp is in operation. If it does not light up, please refer to the user manual.
- Make the holes in the duct to install the fixing plate.
- Screw the plate and the module.
- Connect the module to the power supply.

For optimal use, it is recommended to change the UV lamp every 12 months.

The Protect is an air purifier and ionizer from the MonaAir brand.
IOP4 technology is based on cold plasma. It is a sanitation technique that does not use any chemicals. An electric discharge will energize the molecules present in a gas. The energized molecules will break down to produce negative and positive ions.
Plasma is considered “the fourth state of matter”. The electrons that make up the cold plasma are greater than the energy of the ions. To create cold plasma, an electric discharge must be applied in an insulating gas. This electrically charged gas is then ionized.
The Protect purifies and ionizes the air when the ventilation or heating system is on. When the device is working, an indicator light is visible on the front of the device.
If it does not light up during operation of the ventilation, refer to the maintenance section of the user manual.
- Place the module close to the air outlet so that the air flow passes over both brushes at the same time.
- Secure the module using the four hooks located at the ends of the device.
- Connect the device to the indoor unit respecting the appropriate voltage for the module.

The Protect easily adapts to air conditioning cassette and split, truck and refrigerated container systems.
To optimize the use of the device, keep the windows closed. Defender7 purifies best when rooms are not exposed to other sources of pollution. However, we advise you to open the windows in the morning and evening to ventilate the rooms, knowing that you are bringing in external sources of pollution. Once the windows are closed, the Defender7 will be able to neutralize them effectively.
The Defender7 eliminates bacteria, viruses and fine particles. It also neutralizes VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), pollens and mold.
Defender7 sound level is 0DB.
Le Defender7 is guaranteed inodorous and ozone-free.
The power used is 11W.
To optimize the use of the device, keep the windows closed. Protect purifies best when the rooms are not exposed to other sources of pollution. However, we advise you to open the windows in the morning and evening to ventilate the rooms, knowing that you are bringing in sources of external pollution. Once the windows are closed, the Protect can effectively neutralize them.
The Protect is able to neutralize or eliminate bacteria, viruses and fine particles, pollens, molds and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).
The Protect does not produce any sound.
Protect is guaranteed to be odourless.
The power used by the Protect is 1.6 W.
There is no danger for children or animals. The devices have been designed to be installed in environments where children and pets do not have access. Numerous studies also show that ionized particles are harmless to their health.
It is recommended that the UV lamp and honeycomb catalyst be changed every 12 months to keep Defender7 running at peak performance.
The installer must absolutely handle the UV-C lamp when it is off and with care so as not to break the lamp. Defender7 must be powered off. More recommendations in the user manual.
Every six months, check that the Protect brushes are not full of dust. If this is the case gently remove the dust on it, as indicated in the user manual.
